Saint Frances of Rome

Web-Ready-St.Frances-of-Rome Saint Frances dedicated her life to helping the poor and taking care of others. She also founded an order of oblates, women who dedicated themselves to serving the Church, but did not take vows.

Saint Frances’ life story parallels Cornelia Connelly’s experiences since she too lost her children and remained faithful to her religion. She spent her time helping the less fortunate. In the window Saint Frances is shown with a distaff,a stick or spindle onto which wool or flax is wound for spinning, symbolizing her domestic duties and holding a cross, a symbol of her faith.

In the predella is shown Saint Frances with the angel who was her constant companion and guardian.
