|Saint Martha is representative of a servant to Jesus, always listening to the Word of God and giving totally servantship in him.
On several occasions Saint Martha relieves herself of all of her household duties in order to go and listen to the Word of Jesus. In one instance she left the mourning of her brother in order to follow and listen to the word of Jesus.

Saint Martha and Saint Veronica and other women appear opposite the Blessed Virgin and Mary Magdalene representing women who all attended to the physical welfare of Jesus.
